jon and i get a craving for some yummy fast food at 1015 at night as we are sitting in bed watching last nights episode of house, yeah yeah, we know, bad! anyway….i hear him pulling out of the driveway and theres an unusual sound…
um , yeah, a flat tire! wonderful…a nail….
called AAA, got the flat fixed, and jon still got us our late night snack…all is still well in the world if you got a taco from jack in the crack…right?

im done…hooray!
this stinkin formal thesis proposal i have had to have written is COMPLETE!!!! ahhhhhhhh (singing sounds of joy)…i have been writing this thing for over three days and have spent the last 7 hours here at panera…im am freakin’ tired….but im done…and it feels sooooooo goood!

so, heather and i saw dan’s blog this morning, well, this post specifically….and we just had to run out and get our own…
the green bible is something everyone should own, seriously!

WORD!!!! speaking of words, it has over 1000 verses highlighted in green that refer to “green” biblical topics…as well as an index and trail guide for further study…essays from key leaders, like n.t. wright, mclaren, sleeth, and pope john paul the 2nd…
all this to say, heather and i are stoked about this bible and getting to read it with a new perspective and get a basis for humane and environmental living and what the bible specifically has to say about all of this…

to go home for me! I HAVE really ENJOYED being up in the fresh air, but im itchin’ for some nasty air to breathe…and i miss my husband…

im in the mountains at my dads house…been here since wed. morning…here til monday night…initially it was just to be here for my niece to take her to her many activities she has going on, get her off to school, cook dinner, etc…i guess get a taste of parenthood, even though its my niece and she can take care of herself mostly…there is a “routine” at this household and im here to help it stay on track while the folks are away…so, all that said, its been nice being here with angela, my niece and soone my stepsister…just some alone time with the two of them…its been such a blessing….
mostly though, its been an escape for me…not one i planned on…you see, they (angela and soone) are gone for most of the day, so i am here alone in the house…nothing to distract me from just “being”…this has been a huge gift to me these past few days and something i didnt think i needed…and i am loving my time with God, myself, my book, homework, my thoughts, hesitant to say this, but cable for a few days…(im so glad i can say im excited to get treated to cable for a few days, since we havent had cable in our house in a while)…i can actually say its a treat, and i even got to record something on the dvr…NEAT! its nice to know i am SOOOOO ok without cable, but it has been kinda nice…
all im saying, is im really thankful for this opportunity to escape from my daily life for 6 days…i dont take the time to STOP enough, to focus on what is really important in life, on GOD and what he wants me to learn…and this time has led me to realize Gods cool way of making me slow down, of letting kathy retreat…i dont deserve anything from God, and so because i know that, i am so thankful for this time to be with my family, HIM, and just be alone…which if you know me, im not a huge fan of, but you know, we all need it right, even if its not by choice…its a NECESSITY…for balance in this crazy world…if this is what it takes for me to slow down sometimes, then ok, i give in…i will escape whenever the chance arises, becasue when i do, i feel closer to GOD, i can hear him more clearly, and im peaceful…this is the person i want to be all the time to everyone…the peaceful person i find when i am away like this..this is who Kathy really is…the trick is finding this balance in everyday life…hmmmmm
