woohoo, we have a new roomate! its gonna be great…a community under one roof and living life more simply…what beats that?
and our new roomate brought lots of food…so we will be having a game night with lots of food soon…
we need some pantry space so we’s gots to eat up some of this foody-food!

Well folks, i am officially almost finished with my first quarter in grad school…
tomorrow, actually, today in like 2 minutes, i have my first grad school final! yikes!
not really, i am teachign a 30 minute lesson to my creative drama class…along with my other grad student buddies, dan and tanae, we are doing an AWESOME lesson on the intro to shakespeare, complete with historical facts, worksheets, iambic pentameter, a little of romeo and juliet done in a rap version, and my favorite part is the “shakespeare insult” portion of our lesson as a warm-up/game…
wanna play….below shows you how…shakespeare had a very interesting language that emerged from his writing…he loved using insults in a lot of his dialogue and below is a game that is played to warm students up to his language…fun times…wish me luck on my final and have fun insulting someone…

Well, yesterday was a long, but great day…we were invited a while back by my papa to go to one of the san diego chargers games…my dad has season tickets, and they try to take people once in a while…and yesterday we got to go see the chargers vs. ravens…well, we got up at 530, met my dad and took off to s.d. and got there before 9…yeah, i said 9…the game was at 115…so, we went that early why? to tailgate of course…very fun…food, friends of my parents who they always tailgate with…a bean bag toss game (seriously killed time and was so much fun…), some drinks, and just good times…here are some photos from yesterday…oh, yeah, and the chargers kicked butt!
we got home last night and pulled out our trusty couch bed and cuddled up to watch ELF…”Francisco, that’s fun to sat!” (that was for you bill) it was another wonderful day with the folks and my stepsister soone…love you guys…
but, man, we are pooped!
day 7…JOURNEY home!

well, my journey and getaway to salinas is over…on saturday, jon and i started our 6 hour trek home at about 1030…it wasnt too awful…i mean, i was sick to my stomach for over half the trip, with a headache that made it worse…so i tried to keep myself still and calm…not fun…so my hubby was so great and drove the whole way…i didnt mean for him to, but it just happened that way…here is jon and toby…toby looked bored most of the way…we had him out of the cage, but made him stay in one spot, so he wasnt too happy…
well, we finally arrived home and was greeted by my mom in the driveway…she was staying at our place while we were gone watching bella-boo…
so we got home, unpacked, which is the worst part of any trip…blah…cleaned up a bit, then we took all of the fall stuff down and put up our christmas tree and other decorations inside…YEAH!
the best part of putting up the tree was listening to the old vinyl records i use to listen to as a kid when we put up our tree…we inherited some of the old records from my mom at our last garage sale…i love love love decorating…next is the outside, my favorite part…Its beginning to look alot like Christmas!
day 6…Turkey day…come and gone!

Well, yesterday was awesome!
We woke up to the smell of waffles and bacon in the kitchen…my sis-in-law automatically turned on the Macy’s day parade…woohoo! Sat and watched, ate, drank coffee!
The, my hubby and i went for a lovely walk around the neighborhood here in Salinas…the weather is absolutley amazing up here by the way…that is seriously something lacking from riverside…the weather is not always cooperative, and in November, it is 94 degrees in the middle of the day, what the heck?
anyway, i have enjoyed the weather up here…got back, and the food was almost near being ready…i helped prepare the day before with baking dessert and some other stuff…
well, then we ate, it was wonderful, and we watched oceans 13…after that, we relaxed, had some dessert, and relaxed some more…then we went on another lovely walk…i have been getting some great excercise…i just dont want to be inside very much!
i ant wait to get home to decorate for christmas…putting up lights outside is my favorite thing to do…
i didnt get a chance to see my fam down south this holiday, but we will be there for christmas! cant wait to go see the lights at the mission inn too…sadly, this will be the second year in a row i will miss the festival of lights lighting ceremony…well, i will just get the chance to enjoy it when i get home…
we leave tomorrow,and will be driving the 6 hours back down to the risverside…and sunday morning, we will be rising early to accompany my dad and helen to the charger/ ravens game down in s.d.
gosh, i miss that place! seriously, it was some of the most amazing years of my life there! anyway, tailgating and an nfl game will be a wonderful way to end our holiday weekend! can you believe that it is almost christmas? wow!

Happy Turkey day Everyone…
I hope all of you have a very blessed day with family and friends!
Today, I am thankful for where God has led me…for the love that surrounds me daily, for the wonderful examples i have to learn from, for my wonderfully unique family, for the peace in my heart, for great friends, for Yummy FOOD, for the road ahead, for the past, and for the present…so, today i am just thankful for being able to witness Gods grace!

Well, it is already day 5 of my little getaway…man, how the time flies when you are not stressed and just relaxin’…
so here are the days events…i know you all wait patiently to read about my exciting adeventures up here in salinas…
woke up before 9…gasp! ate a bite of breakfast…
heather and i and katie went for a walky walk…lovely as usual and great company too!
got back, showered…ate some lunch, and while i was finishing eating, my hubby called and said he got off work early, its like 1215…and he was on his way up here to salinas…WOOHOO!
anyway, then heather and i baked my pumkin cream cheese swirl borownies for tomorrows festivities…which by the way, our thanksgiving menu rocks…more details later!

after we baked… relaxing time set in…i began one of my books, True Believer, by nicholas sparks…pretty good so far…
then patti got home from work…us gals wentto gilroy, the garlic capital of the country by the way…we went to eat at one of the only paneras on these neck of the woods, then we cruised into target, and then went down the road to tj’s…then back home…
a bit later, jonny arrived with my bubbas…who is so ALERT, and is giving tons of kisses and thinks he is all better…but he is not, so we still have to treat him as if he was like when we first brought him home…im glad he is better, but he still has to be in the crate…here is a pic of toby and katie is above him on the couch watching over him….she so wants to play with him…sad…
i helped patti prepare some stuff for tomorrow…apple pie, deviled eggs, this yummy chicken recipe (yes, i said chicken)…no turkeys in this house this “turkey day”…too much of a pain and noone really cares about it, except bill, so patti got him some turkey all his own…anywhoo, here i sit next to my love, blogging on this fine wednesday eve before THANKSGIVING 2007…life is good!

Woke up, took a long walk by myself with katie the yorkie…the risinger’s up in salinas familydoggie…good workout!
got back, finished one of my books, “my sisters keeper”…of course i was crying at the end…and no one was around to see it which was nice!
then, i showered…and then, micah, heather and i decided to go visit patti at her new place of employment…
we got there right when she was going on break, and we all shared a venti green tea frap…yummy!
then, micah, heather and i ventured to the steinback library in downtown salinas…micah left to go to work, and heather and i waited for patti to come pick us up after work…we went to one of my favorite shopping places….the GOODWILL! i snagged some fleece pants, a very cool wool hat, some pj bottoms, and a couple other things…heather got some very cool vinyls…one which she was very excited about and so will jon be when he sees it…an old U2 album…vintage!
then, we went home, cooked pasta and meatballs for dinner, got on i chat video with jon to talk for a bit…it was nice to see my honey on the screen (he needs a haircut)…he will be here tomorrow, YEAH! with toby as well, who is doing great i hear!
then, the highlight of the day…we watched HAIRSPRAY 
we rented it earlier today cuz it just came out! it was even more awesome than in the theatres…heather and i seemed to enjoy it just as much as before and were singing along…without love, ladies choice, you cant stop the beat!!!!!
ahhhhh, simply good day…and now i sit here and blog at 11pm at night…
until tomorrow!

I slept in til 9am this morning! Woohoo!
Woke up, went on a wonderful walk with the girls (heather and patti)…all the way to Starbucks, over a mile away…got a yummy triple grande toffee nut white mocha, 3 pumps of each…and got patti’s discount…NICE!
walked home, realxed, showered, ate lunch, then around 230, we drove out to the aquarium in monterey…it was so cool! here are some fishy photos…sorry, im no jon risinger, but i tried…
jelly fish and “bottom dwellers” (name this movie: “for instance, what do i say to the bottom dweller?”)
starfish (a bottom dweller) and some sort of sea urchin and huge crab!
a shark…ooohhh, and the girls…clearly not afraid of the shark!
sea otter (fresh water)…
i also got a video of some playing in the water…but am retarded and cant figure out how to load it…i will do it some other time…
after the fish visiting, we went to this quaint little english pub called the london bridge inn to eat fish ‘n’ chips…TASTY!
came home and releaxed so more, then heather, micah and i walked to the mall to get cold stone…again, TASTY! now we are back and i am blogging about my day…i did some reading in the breaks today too…almost done with one of my books! WHEW, i got a few to still!
so, that was my day today…im pooped, but in a good way! TTFN
